Commission Process
Thank you for your interest in a custom painting! Here’s how the process works:
1. Get in Touch
Reach out via [Contact Page] or email me at [your email]. Share your ideas, size preferences, style, and any references. Include your timeline if you have one.
2. Consult & Quote
We'll discuss the details—subject, style, color palette, budget—and I’ll send you a quote and timeframe.
3. Deposit & Booking
A non-refundable deposit (30–50%) secures your spot. I’ll confirm once payment is received.
4. Design Preview (if needed)
You’ll receive a rough sketch or concept for approval before I begin the final piece.
5. Painting
I’ll create your artwork, keeping you updated if desired. This usually takes 2–6 weeks, depending on size and complexity.
6. Final Approval & Payment
I’ll send images of the finished painting. Once approved, the final payment is due.
7. Delivery
Your artwork will be safely packaged and shipped (or delivered/picked up locally). Shipping costs are included in the final invoice unless otherwise noted.

We'll discuss the details - subject, style, colour palette, budget and so on. Often I work from photographs or by referencing my archive.

I will paint a preliminary sketch (sometimes more than one for larger works) and take a 50% deposit as confirmation.

Once approved by you, I will begin the final piece. I ask for at least one month's lead time depending on size and complexity.

Please send me an email or use the contact form below if you would like to discuss a commission. Sometimes I work from a reference photo, sometimes with a particular colour scheme or composition in mind, sometimes totally freely; I am open to most ideas, so please don't hesitate to get in touch. As part of our discussion process, I will often prepare smaller drafts in order to truly gauge your wishes, before embarking on the final piece.
PRICING
My commission prices are arranged by size and are not dissimilar to my standard prices - please email me for a pricing list. I will require a 50% deposit to secure your request before I begin working on it. I can also offer a time-lapse of the whole work being painted as an addition - a lovely gift option.
TIMING
I usually require at least 1 month's notice, but sometimes I have spaces that open up or can manage to fit smaller works into. The best thing to do is email me and we can discuss it.
